The Isle of Wight has two ferry services. Red Funnel Ferries run from Southampton to East Cowes and Wightlink Ferries run from Lymington to Yarmouth. If you are coming from the mainland to visit this boat jumble the Red Funnel ferry will be nearer to Whippingham. East Cowes, while not as famous as Cowes on the other side of the Medina, has lots to offer for a day out. Osborne House is located here and is a very special place to visit. Queen Victoria’s private family retreat she once declared it “impossible to imagine a prettier spot”.
